Effects of operating parameters on maize COB briquette
Fresh maize cobs used in this study had high moisture content (73.9 ± 0.74%), which is much higher than in other work e.g. 30.3% [].The high moisture content is likely due to the use of fresh maize cobs which were harvested at early stage of maturity (R3 i.e. milk stage) and also stored at 0–5 °C prior to analysis.

Effect of Solvent Extraction Parameters on the Recovery
Spent coffee grounds (SCG) are a potentially valuable source of lipids for sustainable production of biofuels. However, there are several feedstock properties and solvent extraction parameters that can impact on the oil yield and quality, potentially reducing the possible environmental benefits of deriving oils from this waste stream.

Effect of process parameters on oil yield. The effect of moisture content during hydrolysis and enzyme concentration, enzyme ratio and incubation period on increased oil yield is shown in Fig. 1a–f, respectively. The optimization was done using response surface methodology and shown in the figures that the increased oil recovery is maximum
Oil bodies in the form of an adequately dispersed suspension were extracted from maize germ by applying aqueous extraction. The effect on the yield of oil body extraction of parameters, such as pH of aqueous medium, state of germ comminution, and number of successive extraction steps applied, was evaluated, indicating that an extraction yield as high as 95% could be reached when a finely
