The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) is expected to complete the discharging of about 950,000 barrels of crude oil on Tuesday as it prepares its boilers for refining fuel after several months of shut down. A source at the Refinery told the Ghana News Agency that the discharging of the crude oil started on Sunday and was expected to be completed on Tuesday.
Current oil production is expected to increase by more than 200 percent by 2024, which will contribute to Ghana’s economic growth and its foreign exchange reserves. Oil production in the Sankofa fields began in 2024 with an estimated 1.5 trillion cubic feet of gas and around 500 million barrels of oil.
